Hotel of Academic University
Academic University has allocated for the ISVD participants two blocks of rooms in our hotel located in another part of the same building, in which the conference will be held. Staying in it is usually a choice of preference for participants of the events held by Acadeimc University, both due to its location and beneficial prices.
The main block consists of 19 double room (2 beds), which can be also booked for single stay. The cost of a room is RUR 2200 (apprr. EUR 55) per night for foreign participants, and RUR 2000 for Russian participants. You may want to have a look at some pictures of the rooms and the lobby and passage connecting the hotel to the "University" part of the building.
In addition, the hotel charges a separate fee for a room reservation. If you would like to book a room in it, we kindly ask you to add to the registration fee extra EUR 16 if you are a foreign participant, and RUR 375 is you are a Russian participant, as a room reservation fee. In case you have already transfered to us the registrarion fee but would like to stay in the Univesrity hotel, we would appreciate it greatly if you could pay the room registration fee in cash upon arrival.
Please note that since right before and immediately after ISVD 2013, there are other events hosted by Academic University, the rooms are made available for us for the period of July 7-11, 2013. However, it might be possible to reserve some rooms for a longer time - but we will need to double-check that with the hotel.
To book a room at the University hotel, please send an e-mail with subject "hotel" to isvd2013@spbau.ru indicating the number of rooms and the name(s) of the people who supposed to stay in those room(s), along with the intended dates of stay.
Finally, please note that if you choose to stay at the University hotel and need a visa, an invitation letter for you will be issued by Academic University. To this end, the folllowing data will be needed:
- your full name (as stays in passport)
- passport number
- date of birth
- citizenship
- position
- affiliation (incl. department or another type of subdidision and address)
- intended dates of visit
Therefore if you need an invitation letter for your visa application, please also provide us with the above piece of information when requesting a room reservation. The intended period of visit can be longer than that of your stay in the hotel of Academic University.
The second block of rooms comprises three "lux" rooms, each consisting of a study, a bedroom, and a kitchen. Its cost is RUR 3000 per night for Russians, and should be expected to be slightly higher for foreigners (the exact costs will be provided on Monday, May 6). In addition, there are three "sub-blocks", each consisting of a single, double, and triple rooms, all sharing the same kitchen and bathroom. The cost of a single, double and triple room is RUR 900 (appr. EUR 22,5), RUR 1700 (appr. EUR 42,5), and RUR 2400 (appr, EUR 60) per night, respectively, for Russians. Once again, the costs should be expected to be slightly higher for foreign participants. Please note that this block of rooms is located in a so-called "old" part of the hotel, and, in particular, these rooms are quite small and have no air-conditioning, except for "lux" rooms.

If you prefer to stay in another hotel, you might want to check www.booking.com and www.expedia.com in order to book an appropriate room. If you choose to do so, please do not forget to check whether your preferred hotel can issue for you a "Confirmation & Voucher" form for visa application unless you need a business visa (see section Visa for more details).
